I’m ready to book you for a portrait. How do I do that??
Simply call or email Studio Impressions (info@studioimpressions.com.au) to advise us you would like to book. We will answer any questions that you have and provide you with the pricing details that you need. It really is that simple.
Where are you located?
We are located in Spring Hill, a suburb that’s on the fringe of Brisbane’s CBD. We are easy to find and there is plenty of free on-site parking.
When are you open?
Our studio is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, with evening appointments available until 6:30pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The studio is closed on weekends so that we can focus completely on the weddings we are photographing.
Book early. Evening appointments are popular and generally book out two weeks in advance.
Newborns: When should I have my baby photographed?
Babies grow and change so quickly. Getting some professional photographs in the first few weeks or even days of your baby’s life, is an opportunity not to be missed. This time will go so quickly. Professional portraits will become a very special keepsake of what they were like in the very early days of their life.
Many customers will often return to have further portraits as their baby grows and reaches critical milestones. It is great to capture that first year as they sit up, crawl, stand and learn to walk. We can even arrange to have all the images from these shoots put into a beautiful album that records the first year of your baby’s life.
How long will the portrait session take?
The photographic session will usually take 1 hour. We want to ensure you have a relaxing and an enjoyable experience, so we suggest that you arrive a little early have a coffee with us and we will set up for the shoot.
For newborn portraits we like to allow plenty of time to settle and feed your baby if they need it, so we recommend allowing at least 1.5 hours for your session.
Newborns: What if my baby won’t settle?
Don’t worry, you will have plenty of time to settle them. Sometimes though the best photos are the ones where they are not as settled. Our studio is also heated and we play noises especially designed to settle little ones.
Newborns: What if my baby won’t wake.
Some of the sweetest photos are when they are sleeping, so don’t be concerned we will still get some beautiful portraits.
Newborns: What should I dress my baby in?
We will take lots of different photos, so feel free to dress your baby in anything you like. Bring a change of clothes if you like. We can also use our props, headbands and hats.
I have a gift voucher. How do I use it?
Just call us at the Studio to register your gift certificate. We will give you all the details and you can decide when you would like to book in your portrait session.
Where can we have our family portraits done?
We recommend choosing a place that is meaningful to your family. You may like to have portraits in your home, or perhaps a park that you go to regularly, the beach or even a building that has significance to you or your favourite cafe. Of course, you are also welcome to have your portraits taken in our studio.
Sometimes it is even good to take your photos in multiple locations so that you have a variety to choose from. We are happy to help you plan the perfect location to suit you.
What will our family portrait session be like?
We will have a lot of fun. We will make you feel comfortable and at ease. Don’t worry, we are used to helping people feel relaxed about having their photo taken. At all times we will treat your entire family with courtesy and respect. With our experience, we will know what to do to keep you smiling all day long.
We will politely and good humouredly take control when we need to, but we will also let your family relax and enjoy this time together, without constantly being posed. Our greatest pleasure is showing you photos that you didn’t even know we took – the little moments you felt but didn’t see.
What if the weather is bad?
Don’t worry. This is where our experience really pays off. Our aim is to maximise the opportunities that present themselves. We will make the most of the chosen location, or if necessary execute our plan B (we always have one). If you heart was set on a perfect location that is simply impossible in bad weather, then we can always reschedule. We can decide that together.
How should we dress?
A few days before your portrait session, your photographer will contact you to discuss your portrait session in detail. You will discuss some creative ideas for your portrait, the style of portraiture that you would like, and your photographer will give you advice on what to wear to suit that look you want.
What is a pre-wedding portrait?
Pre-wedding shoots are a casual, relaxed and fun way to get to know your photographer and become comfortable with having your photo taken before your wedding day. It is also a great way to celebrate your engagement.
Comprehensive half-day and full-day pre-wedding shoots are available, all designed to suit your personality or your wedding theme. Simply contact the studio for more information.
Do you travel outside of Brisbane?
Yes. We are based in Brisbane because we like it here. However, we will travel to anywhere your heart takes us. Travel fees simply cover costs, so you will find us very reasonable.
